This is getting old! "Can't we all just get along".
I say let use our birth names to refer to each other instead of ANY derogative terms. It just shows ignorance to use them really.

iv'e often wonderd the same thing, why can a black call a white person cracker,honky..ect. but if a white calls a black the n word or porch monky,or boot lips ect.. well then its descrimination..or your racist. why is it that blacks aren't racist or being descrimatory and how come they never come under fire?i think its easier to quietly agree with blacks and take affirmative action against white's because our politicians dont want to look as though they are racist . why is it that you automaticaly earn points in cival positions because your black or female?....and why is it blacks still say they cant find good jobs?..iv'e noticed there are college funds for blacks and blacks only..now what do you suppose would happen if there was a united white person college fund ?..im sure you would find that the black community would dubb it as a clan fund or something along those lines. bottom line is because of slavery in the south, and segregation in the south...the rest of the country has to live every day with the mistakes that they made and in return have created a monster thats best left alone

Yes, some of us do call each other the n-word. However, it is not used in the context in which M.R. and the other bigots use it. In the African American culture, the N word is used as a substitute for the word friend. However, there are times when African Americans use this word in the harmful way, keeping in mind that the N word, when used in the derogatory context, is used to describe an ignorant person.

It's not good to use derogatory terms at all.. Some people are more offended by it than others. The black victims of Katrina think that it's because they are black and so that's why the government doesn't arrive with help as quickly. Are they right?

I have written to Yahoo asking them not to let the C word be used for white people. It is not a word that can be taken lightly at all.

And why are some words derogatory now but were not twenty years ago. I think it is the politcally correct brigade.

Yes. You can say what ever you want about about conservative straight white Christian males. All other groups are protected.
