You would pick Wireless broadband at home if you can't get DSL or Cable high speed. Your other choice would be satellite, so check Hughes-Net.

One advantage is that you could protect your system from lightning easier with transient protection equipment. You see, with a phone line or cable, lightning is a terrible threat in some parts of the country.

The other tiny advantage is that you could place your equipment anywhere in the house. Hopefully, your wireless broadband service is compatible with a router, so you could share your connection.

Good luck and Happy Computing!

There is really no advantage if you are not using a laptop that you can move around with. If anything there would only be the WEP security feature that keeps unwanted intruders out. Even then you would have to use a 128bit encryption utilizing Hexadecimal base 16 letters A to F and numbers 0 to 9 with a total of 26 digits. Of course if you wanted to set up your desktop in another room that does not feature the necessary outlets for Ethernet access then you would consider that to be the only other advantage of wireless. I mean literally you could set up your desktop in the walk in closet if you wanted.

If you're only working with 1 PC, there is no advantage. If you have more than 1, and the other computer or computers have a wireless networking card, you don't have to run a wire from your router box to each computer in order to use the Internet. Also, to do that, the router has to be a 'wireless router'. The whole point is to avoid running wires around your home.

there is no advantage if you don't have any electronics that can take advantage of it. But if you have anything that does use wireless broadband, not necessarily just a computer, then it can come in handy. Hope that helps

None, unless you put a wireless card in PC and if your main connection is in a different part of house than PC no cable running through house. But if its a free wireless box takes it (it doesn't cost anymore), you can password protect them aswell so other people cant log on

you may wish a instantaneous router (I also have a linksys if that helps), a instantaneous workstation card (if your pc isn't instantaneous in a position already) and counting on your determination, you additionally can get a instantaneous NIC card on your pc besides. in case you do not choose to try this, you could bypass away your pc the way it somewhat is. The manufacturers do not somewhat make a difference (in basic terms like with maximum issues) once you pay greater for a style call product, all you're somewhat procuring is the call itself. all of them do the comparable difficulty. honestly it is going to set up like this: your internet connection will come out of the wall, into the modem, from the modem to the router, and the router will connect wirelessly on your workstation. Like I pronounced formerly, you may make the pc instantaneous besides in case you do unlike each and all the wires everywhere, yet you do not would desire to because of the fact the pc can in basic terms connect with the router with the aid of an ethernet cable.

It is easier to re-arrange, you are not stuck putting the computer where it has access to the cable, my desktop had been in the kitchen (no cable there), the lving room, the tv uses the cable on the other side of the room, the family room - had to run cable and a guest room.

Wireless made it easier to change when I had to rewire all the cable in the house.

No advantage. It is slower, and (sometimes, depends how your location is built-up) less secure.
