I am 15 and I think I'm old enough to have one. I got all the facts about the phone I want and how much everything will cost. I know when I can use the phone so it is free without using the minutes. They think that just because I love talking on the phone that I will be on it 24/7 which I won't be. If I'm at home I'll use the home phone duh. But I still don't think that agruement worked. I need help!!

ok... I've been going through the same problem for 2 years now. I'm only 13 but i'm working on getting a phone for Christmas to. Here's my plan of attack though: I'm going to explain to them that i would not allow myself to be on it 24/7 and that i am responsible enough to control myself. It would also benifit them because when i'm out of the house and there worried they could just call me and they could get all the details on where i'm at. So basically were going to have one of those long talks where its them against me. but good luck!!! :)

If your parents don't want to worry about you using too many minutes, why don't you suggest a prepaid phone with a certain amount of allotted minutes, if you use over that amount you would have to pay for your own minutes, that would show them that you could be responsible, and maybe next year for christmas you could get the "regular" kind of cell phone. good luck

you could just wait until you are 16 and you can drive because then your parents will want to get you a cell phone for safety while driving
