If people are fat, or have different color skin then they should be treated the same, right? Why would anybody get the crazy idea to disrespect them for being different?

People like to feel superior over others. It starts early on. Look how kids behave in school, constantly finding reasons to put someone else down. After high school it's not so obvious but it's still there inside them. For some reason we need a reason, any reason to feel superior over others. Fat people are a big target because it's politicaly correct to make fun of them (thanks to the media's continual nonstop attack on fat). Racial superiority is also rampant and I blame the government and media for that (the govt favors minorities and the press makes a huge deal out of the differences)
It's part of life. Think about it, it may not be a fat thing or racial thing for you but I bet there is someone you feel superior over that you put down even if it's only in your mind.

Criticism is a reflection of one's own insecurity. If someone thinks they are fat or worried about getting fat they make fun of fat people. If someone is worried that they might be gay or that they have had some feelings for the same sex they say they hate gay people. It's human nature.

It would seem native to think that plp shld b treated equally. i m a chinese, n plp of other nationality, racial/ethnical groups dun view or react to things as me. So some might treat me like a freak, some will b piss or get irritated. frankly speaking i have similar thoughts when i see plp who r different of me. simply becos we dun understand one another culture. n its not an easy to learn to appreciate or understand others' culture. Even in a multiracial country like Singapore, its still the same, maybe its not so obvious n bad than many other nations(even thought the goverment tend to speak otherwise).

Many people suffer from a severe form of total ignorance. This condition although not fatal, is around for the lifetime of many of its chosen recipients. The influx of many from other parts of the world who openly shows disdain for others has not helped the situation either.

There are just some people out there who have to find SOME way to make themselves feel better about their own appearance. Unfortunately, for them, it involves putting others down. I can't help but think that if these people were truly secure and content with themselves, they wouldn't feel the need to put others down to begin with.

because they are narrow-minded, ignorant, spiteful bigots, who are too dumb to realise that if we were all of one race, age, gender, straight and from the same country, the world and society as we know it would be a boring place to live. the fact they are so insecure about how different other people are compared to them, just goes to show how insecure they are themselves.

Because they themselves are insecure about the way they look/feel. That's the only reason people ever put someone down. They are jealous/insecure and they find tiny insignificant things that are different about the person and put them down.

ok. i dont like people that have BMI over 40. seriously. they need help. but on the other hand, people with BMI lower than 15 also needs help. so, i suggest you, young lady, start eating properly. your BMI suppose to be higher than 15, but its best to be lower than 17.
