You mean that the obverse of the coin was stuck off center? This is a collectable error. Value depends on the general condition of the coin, and the amount that it is off center, as each error is unique, there is no set catalogue value for them. Take it to few coin dealers and see what they say.
You might also check out ebay to see if similar errors are being sold, and how much they go for.
If it is a reasonably new coin, you should get a good air tight coin holder and keep it, it will increase in value over time.

If the obverse of the coin has just details missing and everything else is there, it could be something like grease stopped the die image from coming through. Now if the detail is such that it is in the wrong place so that the rest of the image could not strike the nickel blank then it is struck off center. No matter what it needs to be seen. Take it to a coin dealer or Email me a photo. Get in touch with me here and I will send you my home Email address if you are interested, if not a local dealer needs to see it. It also could be some one did something to it after it left the mint.
