British people suck for asking questions like this one. Nothing personal...you insult us, I insult y'all.

I actually sort of agree with you, and I happen to be American. I don't think that "Seinfeld" is that bad, but I much prefer British comedy. I like the satire and the dry wit of the Brits. My favorite shows include "Are You Being Served?", "Keeping Up Appearances", and "Waiting for God". I've never really gotten the humor of "The Last of the Summer Wine", though.

I agree, British humour is awesome, no show in the world is remotely comparable to the office,or little britian.I mean come on, weve had monty pythons, blackadder, spitting image, and then the classics like fawlty towers, with John Cleese, an absolute legend. And all the good comedians are brits, Jimmy Carr, Ricky Gervais, Billy Connely, the two Ronnies and Russell Brand.Britain rocks!

The reason that Brittish comedy is better than american comedy is because the brits are far better at taking the mickey out of ourselves. American comedy tends to be lowest common denomenator, safe, lame comedy. Brittish comedy tends to be far more Risqué, no boundaries etc

Too much censorship with religious/parental/political groups in America watching over what is said and that takes out all the adult intelligence that is enjoyed with British humour.

Humor if it is good, does not require a laugh soundtrack to prompt a person what is deemed funny or not. Sitcoms are always prompting to laugh at what the writers think is funny unfortunately.

I agree with you. Our humor is kinda fluffy. And it's too political as well. I prefer British and Canadian humor because it's subtle and ALWAYS ironic.

I recall a lot of references to homosexual behavior in British comedy. NOT FUNNY, YOU SICK MONKEYS!

Because we are so easily offended. Political correctness killed the American comedian...we take ourselves WAY TOO seriously.
