you can just multiply 54*9 = 486,
then count the number of decimal spaces you have (3 decimal places in .054 + 2 decimal places in .09 = 5 decimal places)

the number of digits after the decimal point is the number of digits after point of the first number times nr of digits after dot of second number ,
thus 3 time 2 = 6.

only answer b) is thus correct.
