A friend is carrying on a sexual relationship with a married man while they are both are deployed. I suspect he thinks the fling is just that, a fling, and will discontinue contact with her upon his return to his duty station. She is hoping they will continue to communicate and she will see him from time to time when she returns to her duty station.
Also, she tells he me keeps his wedding ring on during the act which I find a little odd. He doesn't talk about his wife much but he frequently talks about his kid. I think he likes her but it's just sexual for him.
He's very attracted to her and they get together as much as possible. I think she is beginning to have feelings for him. I try to tell her it's just a deployment affair and to just enjoy the sex. She confided in me that she hopes to continue the affair when the leave.

People under stress will do and say things that under ordinary circumstances would never consider. I think you have hit the nail in the head as far as you grasp of how things are with them , so may be you can only sit back and wait for the smash up and help pick up the pieces

I do not think that you should be encouraging her to sleep with a married man no matter the circumstances. That's not what a true friend would do! That's completely insane.
It's just sex and if he's wearing his wedding ring during the sex, there's no way in he l l that he's going to want to continue on the SEXUAL relationship that they have. And, why would she want a relationship with him anyway? He's cheating on his wife. Who's to say that if they did get together, he would remain faithful to her?! Tell her to leave another woman's man alone. Find a man for herself. And, you should feel ashamed for telling her to just enjoy the sex. The man is MARRIED.

I think they are in a world of ****.......Sounds like its all about sex to him and she is expecting more....She will be sorely disappointed soon. I feel for the wife and child of the unfaithful creep. He probally loves his wife and kid...but lots of guys will take what they can get if its offered...(which does not make it ok)....Your freind is selling herself short....She thinks little of herself if she will choose to have an affair with a known married man....and this will make her feel even less than she is when he dumps her and she has to deal with the guilt of meaning nothing to him and being a part of a cheaters deception of his wife and family.......

i think your friend should accept it for what it is...a fling.
just because someone is over seas that's no excuse to help break up a home. why would she want to continue the affair once they are back? aren't the facts that he keeps his wedding band on and doesn't talk about his wife signs enough?

Our STOOPID government seems to believe that it doesn't matter what a person's character is like, and that what they do off hours doesn't make a difference in how they will act when on duty. WRONG!

It can but also bring ciaos. It'll come out eventually. That's why divorce is big in the service. I know so many people that have been in this situation before and end up divorced. So sad.

Sad, very sad. I hope the wife finds out and dumps him. And the 'other' girl is letting him use her. If she likes to be used-then she can continue until he breaks her heart. People need to smarten up.
