From personal viewings, I would say it is very polluted especially in the United States (too many cars!) and other major countries.

In other countries where automobiles are not as plentiful, it is not as much a problem, but it continues to be on the rise.

Pollution has never been in such great shape.

From light pollution to CO2 production, the factors are on the up and up.

Which is fine for pollution, but not so good for the rest of us.

How many pointers and stories do you want?
I found the first one below quietly stated and impressive:

The second one is more emotive:
