I had a g/f who never ate meat ,fish, or chicken since birth. She was sophisticated and very beautiful. However I think she was a bit neurotic. Other friends from the hippy days seemed to be pretty run down as they got older. Personally I have done it a few times for periods up to 4 years. You are always healthier than fat guzzling people, you can see the disease in their eyes easily as you look out through clear ones. At the end of my last 4 year clean out I won a meat tray by accident and decided to eat it all over the coming week. I had more energy for sure, and am again a happy viscious member of society.I think vary between the two but if you lose the meat...substitute carefully. Fish worry me a bit in this day and age. I stay away from bottom feeders, crustacions and harbour and river fish. Also those caught around sewerage outlets although enjoyed by some may be a bit "on the nose" so to speak

My view is that I eat them, very rarely red meat, simply because I have never been too fond of it, but I love white meat and any kind of fish, I like a well balanced diet with protein.

my view on eating meat and fish is that it is perfectly fine to eat both as they both provide the nutrients to help give the exact nutrition need. Fish particularly is good as fish contaions omega three which healps with cell and brain development I was bought up on fish so having fish is fine. Meat I would say moderation avoid fatty meats but things like chicken are fine

my view is this, meat isn't easily digested by our digestive system and takes a long time to pass.I have noticed that people who eat a lot of red meat bowels smell bad when they use the bathroom.I also think that meat is the cause of extreme obesity in children because of the hormones and other chemicals that's added to feed to help the animals grow larger and faster.I think that fish is fine as long as the fish you eat has both fins and scales.Sea animals with out both fins and scales are scavengers of the sea and their job by nature is to clean the ocean.Shell fish such as clams and lobsters and crabs ,these animals are meant to keep the waters clean and by people hunting them and eating them the waters are becoming polluted and so are the bodies that consume these scavengers. You asked for opinions so these are mine. One more thing to notice, people who eat a lot of red meat also have large stomachs,I use to think these bellys came from beer, but a friend of mine was a big steak eater but he never drank alcohol but when he gave up red meat he lost that spare tire.

Here's the advice I got from my doctor. I am currently on low cholestrol diet. But what he tells me not to eat is potatoes, carrots, pasta, rice, bread, or corn. Avoid anything with trans-fats.
Meat - no problem. Fish is good. Hope that helps. I have definitely included more fruits and vegetables.

If you weren't supposed to eat meat, you wouldn't have sharp pointy teeth at the front! Your canine and incisor teeth were designed for tearing flesh.
True herbivores (such as cattle and sheep) have all flat teeth, similar to your molars at the side, for grinding up vegetable matter.
This is why vegetarians always look slightly ill - an improper diet! :)

Bring it on. No different than being a vegetarian. I mean cattle eat grain, grass, corn feed, and drink alot of water. Fish was the food of Christ. I don't think its so much about what goes into your mouth, its what comes out of it that really matters.

Very simple. Both are necessary to fulfill what is supposed to be the best diet in the world, i.e. the Mediterranean diet.
It goes without saying that I'm from Spain, a Mediterranean country

Humans are omnivores. God (obviously) intended for us to eat meat and fish. We thrive on that type of diet.
If he wanted us to be vegetarian, he would have built us like he did cows.
Actually, he intended us to have a balanced diet. If he wanted us to ONLY eat meat and fish, we'd be built like cats.
But we are not. Our digestive system is omnivorous. Anything else is unnatural.
