Try Oregon. I met my husband there 4 years ago. It's beautiful countryside, and has lots of friendly people. There are some great places to visit too. The cascades are gorgeous, and you can go to the beach too.

In my state (Kentucky) there is something called the moon bow. It is now the only one in the world....and it is a rainbow that happens at night over Cumberland Falls. Very beautiful. In the same town there is also the original KFC which is not that big of deal, but I still see people taking pictures.

Lets see, there is also Renfroe Valley which is just a big music place. But, it is country music....lots of famous artists have performed there.

Then there is mammoth cave, one of the biggest caves in the U.S.

If you come to Kentucky though, it will mostly be nature (i.e. the cave and waterfall) and I don't know if that is what you are looking for.

Good luck!

well, you can go to the carlsbad caverns in New Mexico, Roswell, New Mexico is a bit odd, and Rock Hound national park in Deming, New Mexico you can look for gemstones and keep what you find. Disneyland in Anaheim, CA is fun if you can tolerate the brown air that smells like an open sewer, You can have a ton of fun in Grand Haven, MI last weekend of July to the first weekend of August at Coast Guard Festival (plus if you get to know me and be nice to me, I might even be able to arrange for free sailing lessons and even a night aboard a WW2 submarine. In early spring in Holland, MI you can have fun at Tulip time festival as well.

Virginia Beach on the boardwalk (Atlantic ave). It is so relaxing yet has plenty to do.The Beach is HUGH. Be sure to get an ocean view hotel. I was there in May and it was very quiet but From Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend it is really exciting there.
