Shouldn't both of them be the same? And no, you can't just use
Thanksgiving to thank anyone like someone answered, but rather it was set up to thank God for all the blessings that he has bestowed upon us (look it up on "wikipedia"). It isn't a "religious" thing, but rather a "Christian" thing. Same with Christmas. If we get the religion out of it all and just get back to the Christian part, the whole world would be a better place. By the way, you do need to key up on your spelling. Even you took the "Christ" out of chrissmas. In removing God from the holidays, like we have removed him from everything else, we as a nation can celebrate the holiday without having to worry about the separation of church and state or offending anyone of a different faith. That is why in government buildings we don't see "Christamas" trees, but rather "winter holiday" trees and decor. What's the point of that. I don't even like winter as much as the other 3 seasons. But, we don't want to "offend" anyone with a different "religion" now do we. Oh well, at least I know the truth and love to share it with anyone who is interested and will listen and learn... It seems to me that almost everything that we as a race have set up to glorify God, someone has come along and ruined it as a whole for everyone. Now people are so confused, like yourself, that we don't know what its all about anymore.

Christmas isn't about the trees and lights with all the glitter and getting gifts. It is supposed to be a celebration of the birth of Christ. If you ask any young child today, they won't know anything about this. I'm old, and it was hard for me to remember the true meaning when I was a kid because even then, the human part was playing its role in distracting me with all the hype and comercialism. If the people of other faiths don't want to be offended, they don't have to celebrate it (simple), I don't celebrate the Muslim holiday period of Ramadan. It could offend me if I did, so I choose not to. Once again, I know the truth...

hard decision, both of them are supposed to bring families together, happiness, love and all that good stuff. and most communities help out the families in need during thanksgiving and christmas. but i guess i would pick christmas, everything is so colorful with all the decorations..and of course the joy of seeing a child light up when they open a present.

I like Thanksgiving better. I love the food. Christmas is good for getting gifts, but there is so much pressure. If you dont like your gift that you get you pretend to like it so that you dont hurt the givers feelingsand your worried that the person that you are giving a gift to is not going to like the gift that you got them. I say lets just stick with the food. Everybody likes to eat.
