Men have erections when they wake up from REM (rapid eye movement) sleep -- that period of sleep when you dream. It has absolutely nothing to do with sex other than it shows that your inner, deep (primitive) brain is working properly and you can achieve an erection.

Since you obviously have access to the internet, you need to research it yourself. But waking up with an erection is normal for most all human males, well into their 40's and 50's and even older. Especially prevalent for younger guys like you. You have apparently led a sheltered life if this is now just happening to you. You need to do some web surfing, and get more info.

Once, one of the things I reccomended to a compulsive masturbator was to wear a tight fitting jock strap.

His particular problem was with morning woodies (or erections). Every morning he would wake up hard, go to the bathroom, and m. But, after wearing a jockstrap, he wakes up not so hard, he can go eat some breakfast instead of j/king off.

The idea to wear a tightfitting jockstrap, came from asking Johnathan Daughrty, a national sexual addiction expert, of Bebroken ministries about it.

He said that the jockstrap shouldn't be so tight as to contrict blood flow, but tight enough to help decrease the intensity of erections.

Other guys that wear jocks have mentioned that it's one more peice of clothing they can wear that keeps them from m.

You can pick up a jockstrap from the apperal section of your local sporting goods store.

You can also find lots of messages about masturbation in my one stop thread of prn freedom resources, the link is below in my sig:

just take some K-Y jelly or vaseline and give it a good massage..this will make the swelling go down after a few good strokes i am sure. if that doesnt do the trick, ask a "good" friend for some extra help.who knows .........you might even find some things out about yourself and even your friend!

waking up with an erection is due to the dreams you have been having. the limbic system and hormones take over while you sleep. it's natural.

HMMM, You'd better take this problem in hand and deal with it, or you'll never see the swelling go down.

It is perfectly normal to wake up with an erection.

No need to worry.
