I know that my daughter was the wrong position until I was 38 1/2 weeks and then she turned on her own. I know they were planning on turning her before labor if she didn't turn on her own. I also know they had planned a c section if they couldn't get her turned or if she didn't turn on her own.
Talk to your doctor more about it.
Best of luck with the baby.

It's still possible, but becoming less likely as time goes on. Some people recommend adopting the "knee chest" position (hands and knees with bum in the air!) for a while several times in a day to encourage the baby to turn round. Others swear by acupuncture. You could ask your obstetrician about external cephalic version, where after about 37 weeks the doctor manoeuvres the baby round through your abdominal wall. Many babies can be turned in this manner, but some still flip stubbornly back. It's worth considering what your birth options would be for both a breech or a cephalic (head down) delivery.

It is possible your baby will turn but you have to do some exercises to get him to turn.

A couple i know of are to get on your knees and go down on your elbows and rock yourself back and forth and do a circular motion will your body.

The most commonly recommended exercise is called the "breech tilt." You simply lie down with your hips elevated about 12 inches on firm pillows, such as couch cushions. Do this three times a day for 15 to 20 minutes. It works best if done at times when the baby is active. While doing this exercise, it's important to try to do some deep relaxation and visualize the baby turning.

Another trick that has been used to encourage babies to turn is to either play relaxing music (Vivaldi and Bach seem to have the best results) or have your partner talk to the baby soothingly through your lower abdomen. You could do this separately or while doing the tilting exercise.

Another one is a procedure called External Cephalic Version, it is a procedure carried out by your doctor which involves using his hands to turn the baby by massaging your stomach.

Go see your doctor or your midwife and they will give you the best advice.

Good Luck

Not usually if extended breech. They probably wont even try to turn it because of the legs being extended. Try crawling about it worked for me and my baby turned at 38 weeks. Try not to worry. Enjoy the new arrival.

It's still possible.
Are you doing anything to help baby turn?
My third was breech until about 37-38 weeks.

- Try doing breech tilts.
- Try doing shoulder stands. (I think this is what turned my baby. I felt her do a HUGE movement after I came down from a shoulder stand.)
- Try heat on your pelvis and ice on your fundus.
- Consider seeing a chiropractor who is experienced with the Webster Technique.
- Talk to your caregiver about the possibility of an external cephalic version (ECV) where the caregiver turns the baby with his/her hands. (Be sure to be very well hydrated if they try this.)

He/she very well could. There are a few things I would recommend trying, though. The first is to visit http://www.spinningbabies.com
They have a lot of information about how to get babies to turn.

The second is to have your doctor perform an external version (not sure on the spelling of that one). Anyway they turn the baby around from the outside. It would be more likely to be successful the sooner you do it, but if you do it sooner the baby is more likely to turn back again. Then you might have to do it again.

I would do anything you can to get the baby to turn so you don't have to have a ceserean.

my baby was breech right through my pregnancy. i had a scan at 37 weeks & she was still breech. dr said she would be very unlikely to turn at such a late stage & cos of scar from previous c-section they couldn't turn her. i was booked in for another section at 38 weeks and was in the operating theatre being prepared for the op when the dr decided to do another scan. much to everyones surprise, she had turned!! I was offered the chance to go home & wait for nature to take it's course or have the section as I had had one previously. I chose to go ahead with the section as I was all prepared for it & I just wanted her out!
When I was pregnant with my son, he was breech & I felt him turn(very uncomfortable) but I never felt my daughter turn.

well you do have 5 more weeks for the baby to turn so hopefully he will. alot of babys do turn and i am sort of going threw this also. you might ask your doctor and see what he says my moms doctor gave her an exersize to do not sure what it was called but it worked for her. and if you havent had a lamaz class yet maybe you could go to one that is coming up soon and ask the instructor im shure they would know what the exersize is. i know if you read on the internet about it there are alot of websites that can tell you about the diffrent techniques that can be done and ask your doctor if there is anything he can do or anything you can do to help get baby to turn.

yes the baby still can get into the birthing position. If the doctors can't get the baby to move on the day of labor then you will most likely have a c section. don't worry though your baby is find it happens all the time.good luck you have a few more weeks to go.I am due today and still no baby.

Breach Baby

. Many babies that are breach will eventually turn head down before delivery. Others will not turn at all. Your doctor may try and manipulate the baby manually by pushing on your uterus at certain points to “turn the baby”. If this doesn’t work, the doctor will most likely perform a C-section.
