The correct mature answer is yes. But I guess it depends on how your parents react to not so good news. If they lose it in a way that you get scared for your safety then I think you should avoid to telling them.
But if they can find out another way without you telling them then you better tell them yourself, otherwise you'll be dealing with two things them finding out about the low score and them thinking you lied to them.
Life is not always clear cut, weigh your options and consider the consequences. And yes as cliche as it is, you do have the right answer. Just consider all the options, what their outcomes may be.

try to butter up the teacher first and see if there is anything u can do maybe som extra credit to try to see if u could raise ur score or something if that doesnt work than go to ur parents and tell them that u got a 64 but when u got it u was confused and asked the teacher how that happened and she explained the quiz to u better and now u have a btter understanding about y and how u got that grade and that u would do better on the next test

1. If telling them will help you in some way to get a better grade on the next test....if they will help you study more for the next one.
2. If not telling them will get you into a lot of trouble. Will they find out anyway?
Best to work really hard and get a 95 or 100 on the next test to bring up the grade.

Yes, but do it like this: "I just wanted you guys to know that I got my History test back and it was a 64. I'm not sure what the problem is... but I guess I'm having more trouble with that class than I thought. I'm planning to talk to my teacher about it on Monday to see if she can help me... but I wanted to tell you about my grade so it wouldn't catch you off-guard later."
Parents generally don't have a problem with bad grades as long as they know you're trying... and that you're willing to make some extra effort to bring the grade up... and most of all, that it matters to you that your grade was low.
Good luck!

Yes, it would be better for you to tell them now than to try to explain later when you get your report card. Just be honest with them, let them know that you got a 64 and why. Tell them that you will work on improving in that class.

i would and possible why. were you sick? did not study? and talk to your teacher and ask to retake the test if your a serious person regarding your test. explain to your teacher why you feel you should retake the test. if i was a teacher and there was no reason you could not retake it id let you just for having the nerve to be man/woman enough to ask and explain. happy retesting.

Certianly, and make sure you're pro-active in informing them you'll be investigating what happened on that particular exam; you'll find it to be a much better experience.

Why shouldn't you tell them? If you are proud of it, tell them. If not tell them, and say you will work on it... They'll be proud that you've done so well. Or that you're going to work on it.
