Actually, it is NOT just a myth, but it is NOT a fact, either. A Loch Ness monster is what is called a cryptid, which is an animal that can exist but does not have enough evidence to firmly prove that it does. Bigfoot, chupacabra, Mothman, and the Yeti are all examples of cryptids. They're mystery beasts.

Whether they are fact or myth is simply a faith position: scientifically, nobody knows.

The loch ness monster is believed to be a prehistoric pleasiosour. It is thought to have been feeding on small fish and other plants. Many people have claimed to see this living ledgend, but no actual die hard evidance has been found. They also think that they need little breaths of air, so they have to surface somtime! I think its outheir, but sadly, too much pollution and lack of food supply stops nessie from multiplying (if thier are more than one) and we need to think about our forgotten friend. Thier are several sites about nessie. if you go to google and type in lochness monster, then you will get some sites telling you about the history of nessie and other pleasiasour facts. good luck!

A fisherman caught a living Colaecanth, or however it's spelled not long ago.
A fish that lived millions of years ago and was thought to be extinct.
That raises the probablity that the offspring of a plesiosaur or other oceanic prehistoric creature is still alive in Loch Ness.
