I'm an American, too; but I can't help having to ask you why you don't leave England, then?

Or, if you're not living there, then, just avoid them. After all I don't see any Englishman wanting to befriend a guy like you. For that matter, I think you'd have a very tough time getting an American to befriend you, too.

You're generalizing. Perhaps YOU are the one who is boring. The English people that I personally know are witty, charming, and quite interesting. A lot of our TV shows have come and still come from ideas from the Brits. Of course half of them are ruined when given the "American" touch (Ab Fab and Happy Family come to mind). England has also produced some of the best writers in the world. Ever heard of William Shakespeare? I'm sure a Brit could say what you've said about Americans.

Unfortunately, I think that English people have the stereotype of being boring and ordinary because of the way they are portrayed in American TV and film. Visit England and you'll find that they are anything but. My husband and I visited for ten days in 1997 and every person we met was friendly and welcoming. In many ways, I think Americans are more uptight than the British. Think of it this way...the British have their neighborhood pubs, where families actually are actually welcome. We still have issues, laws, and regulations about alcohol, despite having one of the highest alcoholism rates in the world. The British have a free health care system and reproductive rights, while here in America we still have huge debates about abortion rights, and no national health care system to take care of those who need it most. Plus, the British sense of humor is so much wittier and genuinely funny than America's, where we rely on slapstick comedy to get laughs (like the movie, Jackass, for example). I'd love to live in England for a while, just waiting for someone to send me a plane ticket!

Why are americans so fat, stupid and humourless? They have absolutelly no sense of humour and egos bigger than thier brains but not quite so big as their fat asses. If you have ever compared American reality TV shows with british ones, you will see that at first, the americans come in with seemingly huge overblown personalities, but after a couple of days, they cant keep up the act and their boring personalities are revealed, wheras the british people dont feel the insecure need to appear loud and confident to others and it becomes apparent that they are far more interesting individuals once you get to know them. And if Americans think so lowly of us Brits, why do they insist on trying to be like us? eg: hiring british nannies so their kids grow up with British accents?

i be attentive to easily what you mean; i've got constantly felt the comparable. i easily think of it is because of the fact those matters are annoying to narrate to. frequently, you already communicate english and you will possibly be able to make sure so the specifics you learn in school are annoying to work out utilized on your on an regularly occurring basis existence. Math is something you regularly do with a calculator, and intensely few human beings ever examine Shakespeare exterior of sophistication, so as that they are annoying to narrate to. it is likewise sometimes in part the instructor. I had a humorous journey easily. I had a Shakespeare classification final 365 days and my instructor became right into a nun, and have self belief it or no longer the classification became into astonishing! It became into bizarre because of the fact like maximum human beings i've got on no account been into Shakespeare, yet she enable us to have exciting and do team stuff and kinda basically screw around as long as have been engaged on what we've been meant to be, and that i easily became into unhappy that classification ended! So, a sturdy instructor can easily make a number of those training exciting, yet frequently they're issues you the two do no longer use on your existence or do exactly no longer understand you do. save your head up in spite of the undeniable fact that, there are matters that are regularly greater exciting.

What a shame! You must not have met very many English people. My husband is from England and is totally charming, as are all of his family and friends that I have met. We go to England regularly and I always have a great time. As for the food, well, some of it does leave a bit to be desired, but their desserts are to die for! And they have fantastic lamb, which is my favorite.
