Just a small item, saying that Brown will be tough on 4x4's.
Can somebody convince me that this is not a diversionary tactic?

Just to put things into perspective, for all you anti big engine brigade. Some years ago before engine management systems became the norm, it was found that at 70 mph a Mini and a Jaguar burned the same amount of petrol. Why all this nonsense about FWD vehicles beats the hell out of me. ALL vehicles on the road have to comply with govenment requirements as regard to emmisions and so on. I get more mpg out of my fwd than many family cars. Correct me if I am wrong but as far as I am aware the Americans are even now still runniiiing around in 8 litre motors paying far less for juice than we do. I have the distinct feeling that the government climb on any bandwagon that will give them a excuse to squeeze a bit more to pay for more cockups.

here is an interesting fact for you.with all of this clean air we are going to make by taxing the crap out of the good folk in the uk,more taxes for bigger cars air travel etc etc well what is going to happen is we are going to sell our clean air the usa yep sounds mad but is true so there 25% will drop and our 4% may drop a little to make us feel better but most of it will be sold to the us what a great idea.
