Only one anti-virus program can be running at a time. To use Avast, you must completely un-install Norton.
See the Norton help file about how to un-install Norton. Follow its instructions exactly. Then you may install Avast. If you already have Avast installed, you should un-install it, then un-install Norton, then re-install Avast. I've done this and it works well.

Good day. If u know how to use P2P Programs, by all means u can use it but be VERY careful. Security risks. Especially Limewire. You can try ares:
www.aresgalaxy.org
With respect to your antivirus, u have to uninstall one of the 2, i suggest u get rid of norton cause they are well documented to cause System Drag. Avast has good user ratings so keep it. Uninstall Norton, clean up the computer and create a system restore point in case of anything goes wrong in the future. Laterz.

You can only have ONE. Decide if you want to use Avast or Norton Anti-virus. Then uninstall the other. You might have to uninstall BOTH, then reboot your computer TWICE, then install your choice.
Unless you use it, I would uninstall all P2P programs. They are a terrible security risk.
Good luck and Happy Computing!

you can only have one anti-virus installed on your p.c,by using two you are putting your computer(operating system) at risk
conflicts will occur and basically your windows xp will go into meltdown
you can use as many anti-spyware programs as you want but anti-virus and firewalls are limited to one per operating system
if i were you i would uninstall norton and use avast as avast uses much less system resources than norton, and also its free!

Pick which antivirus program you want to use--they are working against each other and if they install run together they would be weakened--choose ONE and keep it up to date.
