Why is it important to tell your friends, especially if you are uncomfortable with telling them.
Adoption isn't an issue or disease you need to talk about. It just means that your family chose you and really is no one else's business.

You have the right to keep the secret to yourself. Being adopted is not a crime but things will be different when certain of your past/secrets become public. You not like it when people ask you why you been adopted? Who is your real parent? And many other questions. It's best that you keep the secret to yourself for now. Tell those you can trust when you feel it's alright to let peple know about your past.

Yeah. I'm adopted to. All of my friends know. They really don't care. We'll sometimes talk about it. But other then that its no big deal. If i were you i would tell them. But at first they are most likely not going to believe you. Because we have a new girl in my class and were best friends now but at first she didn't believe me. Just tell them the truth and if your mom is ever around or dad. Tell them to tell them if htey don't believe you. Good lluck. Trust me it's not big deal.

When the time is right inform them. They will certainly not think any less of you for being adopted and may actually think higher of both you and your parents. You are very lucky to have parents that have taken you as their own as there are a lot of kids who are not so lucky and cannot find a home.

If they are truly your friends then they will still love you no matter what. Being adopted is a bad thing. It does not change who you are at all. I think you should tell them. Friends don't keep secrets from other friends.

It is definitely a burden for them.They are searching for the right time to tell you.Now that you know,tell them while you are eating.Start with something like: "I know something for a long time now but i don't really know how to tell you" etc.
and plz don't get mad at them for not telling you it is hard for them as it is for you to accept the fact that you are adopted.

hiya!! you don't have to tell anyone anything!! if your happy with your life and get on with your adoptive parents then why play with fire? if your having problems then confide in a mature friend,someone you know you deeply trust!!! if you were one of my friends then it would make no difference to me if you were adopted,black,white male or female..a friends a friend no matter what!!!! if you really feel you have to tell your friends then look on the bright side,at least you'll know who your friends are!! good luck chick x

Slip it into a conversation. Tell your friends you would rather not talk about it. They would understand how that is pretty big, but respect you wanting to keep it a one time conversation.

and so what if you're adopted...u shud be thankful to those who adopted you bcoz u will never be in what u r right now if its not bcoz of them. no need to tell your friends i dont think they will mind that...and if ever they find out they will accept you who u truly are bcoz if they didn't....they are not "true" frends at all.

i was adopted while i was 12.My real parents were poor and sell me to a rich couple to take me to another country.
