My fujis5200 has a menu to change from 5.1 megs to a low of 2megs. will this help with storing mor pics on my computer? Can i change the size of pic once in the computer? thanks guys.

Yes and No. Yes reducing the megapixels of the photos will allow you to store more on your memory card. No you can increase the quality of the photos on your computer. If you take a lot of photos you are better off upgrading your memory card to store more photos.

5.1 MP is 2592 x 1944 pixels producing average of 1.3 MBytes Normal and 2.5 MB with Fine setting.

2 MP is 1600 x 1200 pixels, a bit bigger than most PC screens, with saved JPG size of around 625 KBytes. The latter might not produce acceptable large image prints for connoisseurs. You can increase or decrease size in pixels via photo editing software, but it will not improve quality or fine detail.

Sure i does, but of course, the size of the pics are smaller, and yes you can change the size of a pic in the computer... it can be acomplished with a regular image handling software (like corel photopaint, adobe photoshop, or even the MS Photo Editor, etc.).

I recommend you that take a 5.1MP pic and then resize it
