I bought an epilator (kind of like and electric "shaver") at a store yesterday night, and didn't look at the box. This morning I opened it and realized it was damaged looking and when I looked inside the main part of the epilator wasn't in it! Only the charger (which is heavy and that's why I didn't realize anything was missing) and a little plastic thing that can be attached to it. They screwed me over and sold me a box for $70.00 of my hard-earned money! Oh my goodness what should I do when I go back to the store? What if they're like "No, we can't give you back your money?"

I know but what if they purposely sold it to me without the epilator because they regarded me as some dumb teenager...

Take it back to the store with the receipt it is a legal requirement that a purchase is fit for the purpose for which it was bought....don't look for problems before they arrive...they will probably be totally ok and either exchange it for a new one or refund your money...

just because you're a teen doesn't mean they're allowed to screw you over. Tell them that the product was misadvertised and you didn't buy what you thought you were buying. If they won't give you you're money back, ask if you can at least get store credit.

take your receipt and be firm but polite don't be pushed around explain what happend to the person at the till if they don't help ask to speak to the mananger. if they wont help raise your voice no shop can afford to have a disturbance in front of other potential customers its bad for business.

take your reciept and go back. The object is to make the customer happy. Explain and see what you get. If you try and return it without explaining and they find out it is missing then it looks bad on you. Explain and they should make it right.

If you have your receipt most stores will usually exchange for another one or refund your money.
