Quick! Throw Norton in the wastebasket or give it back to whomever gave it to you. You will screw up XP if you try to run this. Been there - done that. You don't need Norton.

I use the dos version and find that very good, I've tried the windows version but didn't like it. I think the re-instal times are a bit exaggerated. As a piece of software it has saved me time on occasion, especially when re-installing or installing to a pc that has a similar chipset. Saves about an hour for me and my particular way of setting up a pc.

If you have a top of the range PC Norton is great - it is a good program. The problem with it is it that it is a very hungry beast and will use a huge proportion of system resources on your PC so unless you have a top of the range uberPC then you will find your PC will run v e r y s l o w l y indeed.
So if you have a a good PC go for it, if your PC is not top of the range don't say I didn't warn you!

Use McAfee instead... I've been using them online for eight years and they are by far the best and safest to use. You don't need a disk, go direct to site and download and it updates daily automatically.
www.mcafee.com or www.mcafee.co.uk both work the same, though I first registered with .com and now use either one.

You'll get everything you need including access to their anti hacking partner site.

You pay by yearly subs and they let you know well in advance, when they are due to take it from your bank.
