Let's say I stand on a very accurate scale and measure my weight. Next, I take a deep breath. Does my weight increase, stay the same, or decrease, and why?

my explanation is long, but it might be very helpful, please take your time and read it, for your own knowledge.

look, air, as all other substances do, takes up space. And any matter that takes up space has a certain amount of mass.and the mass of any matter depends on
a) the state of matter the substance it is in
b) the density of the substance,
c) the mass of the substance and
c) the gravitational force of the earth, or whatever place you are in

as you see, air has the lowest density of all the states, but its density depends on the temperature. Also, if you multiply the gravitational force and the mass of the air you took, you get the wieght of the air you inhaled. If the scale is very accurate, the bar will increase, depending on the factors above.but considering the wieght you have, air isn't even 1% of what you will wiegh, so you better have a good scale!!

you gain weight. the exact amout would depend on what you inhale.
Unless it is helium, then you loose weight.

I suppose your weight will increase if you do not breathe. but as you can not live without breathing, you will reject CO2 and your weight will decrease
