When I try to defragment, it says that there are 3 items in that folder that cannot be defragmented. However, when I look in the folder, there is nothing there. You are talking about web-based email or a client-based email like MS Outlook?

In case of web-based mail, you can go to Internet Explorer --> Tools --> Internet Options --> (General Tab) Settings --> View Files to view the files present in your temporary internet cache.

For deleting them, use Internet Explorer --> Tools --> Internet Options --> (General Tab) Delete Files.
