I`m afraid when you ask a question you have to be prepared for all sorts of answers...if you cant take the heat then stay out of the kitchen....

There's nothing wrong with asking questions - after all, that's what this site is all about - but there are some people who need to develop some manners before replying to these questions. They think that just answering "So what?" to your question will get them 2 points, a "Best Answer" & no violations. At the end of the day, it's those people who will be sorely disappointed. You, at least, have 2 or 3 "good" answers to look at on here now.

First of all, I've noticed that the vast majority of questions here can be answered by simply typing their question into ask.com or by using Google. I mean... why waste your time on waiting for people, who have vastly differing ideas and are prone to being wrong when you can have the information at your fingertips to begin with. Not that I know of the question you are talking about.. but if you got negative replies from some people, this is the first reason that comes to my mind.
Counterpoint: We obviously want to be here answering questions... and I don't answer ones that I deem not worth my time. If I'm going to answer it, I answer it.. not tell the asker that they are retarded or what have you. I might mention that the answer is not too hard to find using google or other search tools, but I will still do the research.
Some people are here to annoy others, that is their kick
Others like the chase of an answer... they like to help.
Still more are here to glean points.. Answerig questions with random words or comments like you had just to get their 2 points.

Some people seem to love having a go at others like this. If you get upset by them, which is what they want you to do, Dont show it.
I'd give it a thumbs down then move on and forget it.
You wouldn't behave that way so... Who is the nicer person? You.
Carry on asking your questions and dont waste 5 pts on asking if you are wrong as the answer is always NO. Thats what this site is for.
Hope someone DID help!

Those are the kinds of people that need to get a life.
I know where you are coming from, it is a good idea to get other peoples ideas on somethings as it would make you more clear on what you are trying to do.
However, there are many different types on this thing and the info you get may not be very reliable.
If i had come across any of your previous questions, i'd have tried to help you

I've had the same thing happen to me, too. Those people are critical of everything in life. THEY are the ones with no life. No matter what you do, they are never happy with it. Just stay away from those kinds. It's not worth the heartache trying to help them at all cause it's a waste of time. I know trying to ignore them is sometimes impossible, but I still try. Alot of times it does help. There really is no help at all for them.

You're absolutely right to feel the way you did. I'm confused why people even get on to answer or give their opinion when it's not there right to get on here and cut people down; that's not what this is about! You either want to help out or just keep scrolling til you find a question you wouldn't mind answering or "helping" out with. I'm tired of people cutting down or demeaning each other! Just answer the question, move on, or keep searching! Sorry about your experience!

I have learned that you can't come to Y!A and be thin-skinned. There will always be someone to bash you and then on top of that, when you least expect it, Yahoo will send you a violation notice -some people on here must have gotten hundreds of them.
I think this is a place where people often lash out. Maybe it's because of something going on at work or school that they can't address there so they take it out here. I don't know except that if you're going to be here, you're going to get kicked around. That's just the price you pay.

Ignore it dude
A lot of people can miss the point of what you've asked, they could be tired, drunk or high when writing, could be in a bad mood or they could just be a ten year old with barely a grasp of what you're talking about.
The ones who answer your question helpfully are the ones you should be listening to ~ laugh at the negative ones and think how silly they are ;)

I don't think that it is wrong to ask any question. That is what these things are for. I do think that there are a lot of people are on her just cuz they have nothing better to do. They think that this is funny and that it is funny to be jerks. I personally try and learn as much about as much as I can. If that makes any sense. My wife is huge into birds right now and she knows her stuff. She is trying to learn and help people that need hep.
I say rock on with your bad self and ask any question that you might have wether or not people think it is stupid.

Lisa, you don't sound pathetic. Surely you have been on Yahoo Answers long enough to realize what insensitive buffoons abound here.
Just ignore the rude folks and concentrate on the folks who want to help.
Merry Christmas!
