I think using your own car and going by bus or rick is the same amount of calories. However, if you use your own car, you can park in the parking lot farthest from the door, and get some extra walking in. You may also be able to use your car to go to a gym during your lunch break.
Using public transportation is better for the world, and you can get off a bus stop early, but it sounds like it is impractical. Instead, control your diet, and spend some time every hour or two going up and down the steps at your workplace, or walking around the building during your break. You can get more exercise in, even with a car.
Good luck.

I think you are mixing your work with your health. Use your convenient mode of transport when you go for work. Reduce stress when handling matters of work. Do not unneccessarily think of what mode of transport you use. If you feel that bus is more relaxing than the drive on busy roads, use the bus.
But give some time for regular excercise. Go for half hour walk everyday. That will energize you for a busy workday. Good Luck.

If you thought that travelling in buses or rickshaws would cut your weight, you are wrong. It is possible through physical exercises and a balanced diet only.
