NO , for Hotmail account, it does not have any effect, except by opeing your box and your system is slow already then opening the page of your inbox will as well slow

If you;re using internet mail like yahoo, gmail (check e-email directly through browsers, like firefox or internet explore...) the answer is NO.

In case, you're using POP3 because you download your e-mails to your HDD before read them. The answer is yes, but seems impossible. The number of e-mail is hard but not possible to reach 1Gbs, or even 10Gbs of hard hard disk which can slow down your PC when the size storage for e-mail increasing.

i have found that having a lot of any excess stuff slows my computer down. Once I have read and answered my email I clear them out, no point in possibly filling space thats not necessary

you are going to look at them and delete them or put them in a file any way right.
so they don't stay in your inbox.
