I doubt they ever will. Seinfeld needed to do something because of the December DVD release of their 5th season. Also, Seinfeld's reputation will carry him through this unscathed... can't say as much for the other characters.

Not peculiar. They didn't ask for comments from his Mom, his third grade teacher, or his acupuncturist, either.
The story hit, Seinfeld orchestrated his appearance on Letterman where he apologized and Seinfeld defended his friend.
The story should be Over at this point. No additional comments are needed or justified. The only reason you would ever go looking for more comments would be if the commentators would contradict the apology with further tales of racist behavior. If anybody had evidence that the apology was bogus, then I presume they'd have been all over Entertainment Tonight.

I don't think they should OFFER to comment publicly, but if either of them are ASKED I'm not sure there's a whole lot they COULD say. They can't really say anything negative about Michael Richards because fueling people's anger could only serve to harm dvd sales profits.
And this business about people saying "who cares" or "it's no one's business" -- if that's their attitude about what M. R. said then that should also be their attitude about what Mel Gibson said. There is such a crusade going on to boycotting all of Mel Gibson's work, the same should go for Michael Richards, the things he said were just as disgusting and offensive! And if the public feels that he shouldn't be allowed to make money off of his own art anymore because of his drunken rant, the same should apply for Richards! Plus Richards isn't even using the excuse that he was intoxicated so we can assume that he was of total sound mind at the time of his evil, hateful ravings!

Jerry has a new DVD that came out. It was in his best interest to say something right away. He probably arranged for Mike's quik apology as well.

no not really!! jerry was on letterman promoting another season of seinfield and was covering his back.
think about it if the other cast members jumped to richards defense it puts them in the hot seat as well. and cant you imagine if the whole cast defended him seinfield would be labeled as racist.

Well what does it have to do with them anyway. People make make too much of other people's opinions. Richard's probably regrets his actions, as much as we cringed when we read about it. But it still isn't our business.
