I learned Object Oriented Programming about ten years ago, then got stuck in a job with an antiquated procedural language (PickBASIC). In the meantime, a whole school of OOD sprang up around me, with terms like "encapsulation" referring to what we used to call "putting something inside a class", and so forth. So, what books, websites, etc. would you recommend for an experienced programmer to brush up on the terms & concepts of modern OOD that wont talk to me like I've never seen OOP before?

It would have been nice if I had learnt PHP and SQLite before I went to college because it would have made my life a lot easier. I could have easily built all kinds of different forms to produce reports and calculators with. A lot of college students today are probably using Microsoft stuff such as Excel and VB script. A thorough knowledge of existing Excel functions would be also be very useful.
