Spoiler Alert!

If the movie ended with Mumbles in the zoo, no doubt it would have been depressing but it would actually have more resonance and have a deeper impact.

I loved the way how songs from the 80s were meshed up and the choreography, together with Nicole, reminded me a lot of the excellent Moulin Rouge.

However, I just cannot reconcile with the ending. In reality, a tap dancing penguin will not be released back to the wild. Mumbles would be generating ticket admission sales or that the true intention of slapping a sinister looking tracker on Mumble is so humans can harvest his family and friends so they can tap dance to the end of their miserable lives under their scrutiny. And if the theme of the movie is individuality, why must the elders be coerced into tap dancing to entertain "Mystic Beings"?

If not for the ending, I would have given it an A. Final Grade: B

It's ok. If you like tap dancing, you'll like the movie. It has a message of acceptance, typical of modern cartoons. Go to see with friends.
