I'm going to this formal christmas party at a very nice hotel in December. I have picked out this really nice black dress. I don't know what type of shoes to wear though. I have nice sandals, but what if it snows? Should I get high heeled shoes that have a closed toe area?

You are correct, honey. Strappy shoes where your toes are exposed during winter time is a NO-NO, indeed. Catching snow within your toes could make them soggy and frost-bitten.
Why not go for a black pair of medium high, stillettoed boots with a very sleek and polished design? Those with ornamental and decorative hardware, like bejeweled or stone-studded gold buckles on the vamps of the boots will surely make heads turn in that Christmas party.

A nice open toe shoe in black,gold, or silver. If it were me I would wear a silver shoe to bring a little bit of color to the outfit. That's just my opinion but you can choose from black and gold if you want.

since it is a formal party, i would suggest wearing a pair that is black with elegant straps. if you are uncomfortable wearing strappy shoes, then maybe try something like the one below...

DEFINATELY somethign that will stand out against your black like a hot print or a bright red. Definately a sexy shoe, stillettos are always great. However if your more conservative I would go with a silver/grey sheer shoe with a bit of sparkle or shine to it, its very cute.

get a plain style like closed in toe high heels
BUT
get a groovy colour, like bright pink or more for a christamassy feel silver or gold.
SCHUH have loads of ideas.

i would wear a nice pair of black pumps they are formal and are so cute and if you wanted to be alittle different buy a red pair that is very much in sytle now

u can waer a pair of knee length shoes ,high heeled ones cud be of red color which cud make u look very hot best of luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!
