my thoughts are that rosie overreacted she cant go around assuming everything a person does is to attact gay people hell for all kelly know clay's hand could have been scratching his balls had she said ooh i dont know what man you been rubbing on with those hands then rosie can have something to say. I as a woman and i know kelly as a professional celebrity wouldnt want some man putting his hands over her mouth regardless who he was and he should know better he could have smeared her lip stick and its just inappropriate behavior to me and im sure her husband didnt like it much either even if it would have been brad pitt.

I think Rosie blew what was meant to be a comment..that many people make...("I don't know where you're hands have been?" Come on! Everyone says that at some time!) into something that it wasn't. I am not a Kelly fan..but seriously, that is something we all say. Although I like Clay I think he was out of line doing that. As we all know, Kelly can be annoying...but it should have been hands off.

I dont know what actually went on but I can tell you this...
rosie needs to worry a little less about other peoples business and a little more on her donut intake. I mean in the next two years she is going to be flown over all of the football games. And why is she attacking gay people when she herself is gay?
And for the record, according to the interview with Barbara Walters, Clay Aiken is not gay- he has a girlfriend and she is beautiful. As far as kelly ripa, i think he just wanted an excuse to touch her lips since she is HOT!

I think Kelly Ripa overreacted to Clay's joke. I have seen Kelly Ripa put her hand over Regis' mouth in the past.
I think Kelly didn't like Clay and had it in for him.

I think Clay Aiken is a nice guy just trying to be entertaining.

I think Rosie is a liberal who constantly has a chip on her shoulder and gets offended by all kinds of stuff.

Rosie wasn't even on the show with Clay and Kelly yet Rosie felt the need, as always, to go on and on about it on "The View" just so she could be center stage. Rosie trying to out Clay was far more offensive than Clay putting his hand over someone's mouth in a playful manner.

Oh for God's sake. Rosie needs to get off of her Lesbo High Horse. We get it. She is Gay. She supports gay rights. Yada, yada, yada. Where did she even get the idea that Kelly reacted because she was homophobic? That is ludacris. I think Kelly had legitimate reasons for acting the way she did. (Cold/flu season - I get that).

If Clay has been trying to "hide" his gayness, Rosie totally just blew it for him. (That is my VIEW).

However, did this NEED to be aired in public? NO! She could have discussed this with Clay in private (like an adult) instead of whinning about it on television.

I thought the great comeback was Tori Spelling putting her hand over Clay's mouth at the AMA's was too funny.

There is a war going on - people are getting killed. Sheez, this was so dumb.

I could care less about the whole situation. BUT if I were Kelly, I would have shoved Clay's hand away from my face, too. Regardless of what sex orientation the man is, everyone has germs!! I think Rosie just opened her mouth just to do so and blew it way out of proportion.

I agree with you totally.

Although I am not a fan of Kelly Ripa (she appears to be so full of herself), I do think what Clay did was unprofessional.

Kelly was more humiliated by the gesture than anything else. Where Clay's hands had been was just the excuse for her outrage.

However, she did do the same thing to Regis on one of the programs so I think that she should have just sucked it up and spoken to Clay privately during the break.

That would have been more professional on her part and not caused the media blitz.

I'm not trying to sound like a smart a** or anything but really, I couldn't care less. It may not have been the smartest thing that Clay could have done, but it wasn't done with harmful intent. It was something done innocently that was taken in the wrong context and then blown out of proportion by Rosie. And as far as Rosie is concerned, I have totally stopped watching The View since she became one of the hosts. I liked her ok as a comedian, but I find her brass and offensive and very unappealing as a talk show host.

I think Rosie may have overreacted but I can see her point. Ripa's excuse about cold and flu season didn't really wash with me. The reason: she eagerly kissed Mario Lopez on the lips, not knowing where his mouth had been or if he had been exposed to a cold or flu virus. She wasn't concerned about it then. I know Mario's really hot and Clay isn't but that's not the point. But sometimes I think people get too sensitive and find homophobia, racism and bigotry where there really isn't any.

i'm gay and that i do no longer remember electing Rosie as our spokesperson. Calling Kelly's words and movements homophobic struck me as somewhat a stretch. Rosie hid in her very own closet whilst she had her very own communicate instruct. in view that she got here out she takes herself thank you to tremendously. I savour her appearing expertise yet no way do I evaluate her a spokeperson for the gay community. loosen up Rosie.
