I would look at U.S. response though things like Homeland Security as it impacts privacy and civil rights.

Well, it had a huge impact on America after 9/11 because I really don't think we ever would have believed that it could happen here on such a large scale. Yes, there was a bombing at the World Trade Center several years earlier and then the Oklahoma city bombing, but 9/11 changed our lives in this country. We now know that we are one of the main targets and people don't trust anyone anymore. It has brought war, a huge separation in our government and among our citizens. I think many people live in fear of what's to come next.Terrorism is real and people finally see that and just how close it is to us here in our free country. It's scary but true.

Terrorism means causing terror. This does not have to be an actual event. Terror can be caused by newspaper and Tv articles.
The constant reference to terror is what causes the terror.
The number of actual terrorist events are few and far between, and most of those can be traced to the activities of the Secret Services, operating on behalf of the New World Order.

The main effect is on nthe minds of the majority of people, who have followed the prpaganda, and believe, quite wrongly, that Muslims are a serious threat.
