After any sexual assault, the first thing that you need to do is get to the ER. They will inspect for bruising in the vagina, and will give you a multitude of drugs, INCLUDING a contraception drug to make sure that pregnancy does NOT occur.

On top of that, they will give you antibiotics and drugs to prevent HIV from taking hold if there's a chance that your attacker was infected. They will ALSO take a DNA scraping of your vagina and cervix to see if they can come up with a match in police databases.

If you go to the ER immediately after a rape, RARELY is pregnancy something that you'd have to worry about.

I wouldn't abort the baby...... I couldn't do that....
I think I would keep the child. It would be hard, but it isn't the baby's fault for being conceived during a rape!!!! So you cannot blame the baby. It would be hard, but you did get pregnant (not blaming you either, sometimes you wish the guy could get pregnant!). I would take the responsibilty of raising the child, and I would go see a counselor. And if you can't handle having the baby because its to hard, its understood.... don't abort, look into getting the baby adopted, there are so many couples in your area trying to have a baby and they can't, so they want to adopt.
The baby will be loved either way...... thats all that matters!
I have two children myself, and the thought of having another child from a rape, I just don't know how I could handle that......

I know someone who was raped and she had an abortion at 13 weeks, she has never really got over it after 28 years. She often thinks of "what if?" and "it would be doing.....now" Also she thinks "what if I did keep it, where would my life be now?" She is happily married with children, she does mourn but not often, its done now. Had she have kept it would she be as happy now? Who knows, maybe, maybe not. It is a decision depending on the individual and the circumstances at the time, it ain't an easy one to make and the woman has to live with the consequences of what ever she decides for the rest of her life.

first off, if you got raped and went to the emergecy room they would give you the morning after pill which would mean you wouldn't get pregnant. It would all depend on what type of rape it was too....if I were raped like date rape, where I knew who was the dad, and didn't have the morning after pill, I'd keep it and make the dad pay through the nose for the next 18 years. LOL If I were raped on the street and it was violent and didn't know the person, yes, I'd get an abortion, but of course I'd go through the emergency and report it.

Depending on how old I was and my situation. Me now.. 21 & Partnered.. proably emergency controception and if that was too late I would seek professional phyicatric help and proably have the pregnancy terminated. The reason being I would not be able to give the love the innocent baby deserved know what hate it was made upon.

Depends on the age. Have the baby and give it up for adoption - the baby is innocent. If I were older, I may keep the child.

Personally i would keep the baby. Im not agaisnt abortion but seeing so many little babies born at work every day it just makes me think what if this woman got an abortion?? It is not the babies fault its father was a criminal.

You also need to thimk how having the baby would affect you. What if it looked like the rapist? Could you bring yourself to look at it everyday?

i would stay pregnant so that way you have time to think about it and in the end you really don't want the baby you can always give to some family that has always been wanting a baby...
