"Red Ken" plans to increase the London congestion charge to £25.00 for drivers of people-carriers (or "Chelsea tractors", as they have been dubbed) or on any vehicle that he considers to be a "gas-guzzler". Are his action justified in the name of traffic reduction, or is this another one of his old socialist dinosaur attacks on the wealthy? I don't see an end to the poverty in parts of the East end. I swear blind that he's just feathering his own nest (as champagne socialist hypocrites like him are wont to do).

Those of us old enough to remember Livingstone when he ran the GLC know he is just the same nasty socialist as he was then. If Londoners would take their heads out of the sand and look at the council tax money wasted by him and his pals they might realise what a pratt he is. His 'expert' Bob Kiley has been paid millions of taxpayers cash and delivered very little,he's now being paid thousands for doing nothing because he's got a contract which Ken can't break in case Kiley spills the beans on what's going on in Transport for London. However who can blame him for a situation where his political opposition are a total waste of space.

"Red Ken", as far as I am concerned, has never been "Red", and is a self-publicist and aggrandiser in the mould of Derek Hatton. As you point out there has been no reduction of poverty in London (not just the East End) since he became Mayor. If anything poverty has increased throughout the capital. I don't see this as "another of his old socialist dinosaur attacks on the wealthy." It's a PR stunt, aimed at the Hampstead "radical" lovies, with the aim of bolstering "Red Ken's" so-called radical credentials.

Its not just "Red Ken" but every council and government that have been doing this for years, its what i would call easy money.
The poor cant afford or wont pay,
The wealthy will just take there business elsewhere,
and the guys in the middle get fleeced .
Is it time to rebel French style...

regardless or not he is doing this to protect the environment, the congestion charge is a money-making scam, which has robbed millions of pounds off drivers. he is a car-hating, thieving socialist, right-winger who cares of no one but himself.

the man is a egomaniac: whoever elected him as mayor of london ought to be ashamed of themselves. he doesn't deserve to represent the city or the people at all. does he give a toss about londoners? did he ever.
