If you have a problem with a seller email then saying you are not happy and hopefully they will offer a full refund once item returned. If you still not happy and problem not resolved then contact ebay or lodge a complaint with paypal, usually you have to follow a particular procedure but you are guarenteed a happy outcome. I feel that shopping on ebay is a lot safer than an unknown site as offers you more protection. The good thing about ebay is that you can leave feedback, this enables other buyers/sellers to review the ebayers history. Another word of advise I never shop with ebayers who have a rating below 95% and also look at feedback to find out what has been the reason for neutral or negative feedback. Thankfully I have had only very minor problems which have always been resolved.

Yes £6, paypal couldn't help because the seller suggested it was a service. Seller offered a range of things but wouldn't accept ebay bids.
Never got money back, but got more than £6 worth of pleasure reporting that seller to ebay everytime they tried to con someone else. The sales kept being stopped, and seller was suspended with loads of differeent ID's. Ebay makes it easy to track people by the items they try to sell
That seller is not on Ebay, unless they have stopped that con, and got a brand new ID.

Yep, I bought something that didn't exist. there are ways you can protect yourself to a certain extent.

ALWAYS ask to see a photo of the actual item, not just a stock photo. If they can't supply it then walk away

Try to stick to sellers that accept Paypal. This way you have some chance of getting most of your money back if the item is imaginary.

Check that feedback. If there are a few negatives from buyers or if the seller is pretty new to the game, be wary.
