An eye twitch is usually harmless. Rarely, a twitching eyelid can be a symptom of a muscle or nerve disorder. But in such cases, eyelid twitching is usually accompanied by other symptoms.

The cause of eye twitch isn't known. But it may be associated with fatigue, stress or caffeine. You may be able to relieve eye twitch by gently massaging the affected eyelid. To do this, move your index finger back and forth from the inner to the outer part of the lid for approximately one minute. Use the same amount of pressure that you use on a computer keyboard. Massage may be more effective if you first use a warm, wet compress on the eyelid for 10 minutes.

Its a condition called blepharospam, it occasionally happens to most human beings but usually goes away after a few minutes, some lasting an hour or two. If it won't stop you might try warm saline solution ( contact stuff) real inexpensive and if that doesn't do the trick that you need to visit the urgent care because you need some drops with lidocaine to numb that area up so it will stop its twitching.

OMG this has totally happened to me. it's the WORST when you can actually SEE it twitching. I have no idea how to make it stop but for me it happens when i am stressed out. so try to think about relaxing and not stressin' so much. and try googling some relaxation techniques. here is one that i like to use "Progressive muscle relaxation. In this technique, you focus on slowly tensing and then relaxing each muscle group. This helps you focus on the difference between muscle tension and relaxation, and you become more aware of physical sensations. You may choose to start by tensing and relaxing the muscles in your toes and progressively working your way up to your neck and head. Tense your muscles for at least five seconds and then relax for 30 seconds, and repeat." just remember, not to tense too much. if you are like straining you might make yourself feel worse. When tensing, only do about seventy percent of your effort and you should start to feel better. good luck! i hope you stop twitchin' soon because i know it drives ME insane.

This may be a sign of a magnesium deficiency. I get good results from taking a calcium magnesium zinc tablet 3 times daily with meals. Also eat at least 3 servings of fresh fruit daily for potassium whose lack can also aggravate muslce tics and spasms.
Good luck. Hope this helps.
