The fastest standard production motorcycle presently available is still the M.T.T. Y2K.
Its top speed is a genuine 227mph (and it will hit 200mph from a standing start in 12 seconds. Yours for £80,000).

The Hayabusa held this crown for 7 years but now the honour goes to Kawasaki with their ZZR1400 which was finally released to the public this year.
The fastest recorded time for the 14 with just some small tweaks done (exhaust, PC3 and a change of gearing) is 207mph at MOD Woodbridge in September.
This was only slightly faster then a Hayabusa with similar modifications done.
Lets hope that Suzuki get their act into gear and upstage the false king. 2008 is supposed to be the year when the new Busa gets released.

Busa in a straight line. Wait until the Ducati Desmoseidici MotoGP replica hits the streets and it'll be faster in every respect. Until Honda do their RC211V replica, if they ever get round to completing it!!
I'd still have the Duke tho! Anyone got £30k they can lend me, I had a look down the back of the sofa and could only scrape together £1.37p 2 skittles and something very gooey which I couldn't identify!!!

marine turbine technologys y2k superbike.top speed was over 270 but that was because the rider could not hold on any longer.it comes with a guarantee that if it does less than 300mph you get ur money back.an for anyone that say its not a production bike well it has sold over a hundred bikes which counts as a production bike.next in line speed wise would be a de-restricted zzr1400

It is well known that the new Honda Fireblade is the fastest when it comes to motorcycles, it has been tested in track along with a 911 porsche turbo.. believe me, the Fireblade went feet ahead :)

I would think it is now the Kawasaki ZZR1400.
All Jap manufacturers have a gentlemans agreement that they will restrict speeds to 186mph. De-restrict though.....
and you are changing it from stock, so you may aswell spend the money on a turbo'd R1 or a Nitrous Kit. Faster then than a Jet plane!

Depends on whether your talk about 0-60mph or top-speed. I think 0-60 or even 0-100 is the NEW 2007 R1. And for top speed....eh...who cares...can't go that fast on these road conditions.
