According to the Sky magazine that subscribers get,it's supposed to be - Christmas Day 7pm on BBC1. It's the Special featuring Catherine Tate as Donna - it's called The Runaway Bride.

Christmas Day.
It's a fantastic new episode called "The Runaway Bride" it features Catherine Tate as "Donna Noble".
I am very much looking forward to seeing it. The new series is on next year, probably late spring and features new companion Martha Jones! YAY!
On New Year's day there is a special spin-off staring Elizabeth Sladen as "Sarah Jane Smith". This is the feature length pilot for a new CBBC series called "Sarah Jane Investigates".
Oh I almost forgot - stupid me! There are new radio episodes of Doctor Who stating soon. They feature 8th Doctor Paul McGann and are on Radio 7 in December. There is a Cyberman story and a Dalek story and others too. The first one "Blood of the Daleks" is on the 31st of December. I can't wait!
So December looks like a good Doctor Who month and 2007 looks like a great Doctor Who year.

There is going to be a Christmas Special, and the new series (still with David Tennant) will be broadcast starting in May next year.

the new Doctor Who is a mainstay of sci-fi channel's friday night lineup the next airing is fri dec 1st at 8pm eastern time in the usa
