Recurrent dreams often mean that this is what you're feeling in regards to some issue (unless it came out of a Stephen King novel, those are pretty darned gripping).
However, before we even go into the emotional, let's realize that feelings are also neurochemical. It can be adicting, the excitement. I mean that. Addicting. Adrenaline and all that, tand the negative hormones, etc., are counteracted by the highs of dopamine and serotonin and all sorts of soothing chemicals.
The theory exists (unproven) that war vets with PTSD, where they keep thinking they heard gunshots, etc., are addicted to their reactions.
Maybe you just need some good, endorphin-releasing exercise and a couple of horror movies to get that high.
May be a little far-fetched, but at least don't get stuck thinking that there is something really wrong with you, like i thought once when stuff like this happened.
Maybe there is a just a life issue that you need to resolve. Maybe you don't want to admit it while awake, so the pressures are expressed in your sleep.
Good luck!

This is a common dream triggered by some event in your life.
It may cause by a movie you saw when very young, your conscious mind has rubbed it out but the subconscious is still at it. Once you realise it as an dream, that is good and if you can think (remember) of the event or episode than it is even batter, you can and will resolve this once and fore ever.
In the mean time get up get out of the bed, drink a very little water, go back to sleep if you believe in prayers, just say any short prayer or just wish well and go to sleep.
A general check up is a good advice, if you are healthy and are feeling fine then, try this first.

I think you wake up before you reach the Treasure down below the ocean which drowns you to shower you with all the treasure it has. When you get this dream next time, try even to see wats around you in the ocean. Who knows you might not have noticed that wat you call as waterbodies are golden fishes.
Think positively. dreams are the out come of sub-conscious mind and nothing more.

Oh don't worry over such trifles. Just keep telling ur mind that its just a dream and truly try to believe it. I think u might have seen some movie related to that and that has got inscribed in ur mind. U need to go into the subconcious mind and change it. So tell urself everyday without fail that it is some triflic dream and have faith in ur existence than ur dreams.... :-)
