Who says he is underweight? What is an average weight?
Babies are unique and as he sounds like an energetic child I wouldn't worry too much. My son was the same and after two years of stress for me, trying to get him too eat food he didn'tr want, seeing nutrtionists etc.. I have now been told that ' it's just they way he is meant to be' shame no one told me that at the start then i could of enjoyed my baby. As long as your child is healthy in every other way and the weightloss is not a sudden development dont worry too much a baby wont starve itself. Weight charts are based on an average american baby and genetics race creed and individual circumstances are not included in them. I am a firm believer in the fact that your instinct will tell you more than any doctor esp when it comes to your kids:)

First talk to a doctor. My baby looked underweight but she wasnt, the doctor said as long as they are drinking then its ok.
I bought a book for home made baby food. She really like the fresh fruit drinks and the home made porridge. Dont be worried if your baby doent like milk, just ask you doctor for alternative drinks/foods to the milk.
You could try one my baby loved: you take zwieback (ask in the store), a banana, an orange and a apple. mush banana and apple, crush 2-3 zwieback and press out the orange, pour over ban/apl/zwie mix.
She could not get enough of it every morning.
Good Luck
PS a fat baby is not necessarily a happy baby.

I was always underweight, til I was 8 years old. When my mom took me to kindergarten the school tried to turn me away cause they didn't think I was actually 5 years old, cause I was tiny and I only weighed 26 pounds. (Most kids by the age of 5 are about 50 pounds).
Some people are just meant to be little.
If your kid is healthy and plays, then he's probabaly normal.
Be CAREFUL when trying to fatten up a kid, cause you might make them TOO fat, and then they will have weight management issues for the rest of their life! Thin is better.

My baby had the same problem, I took him to the pediatrician and she suggested (of course I can't think of the name of it) it's made by Enfamil - it's says on the can for preemie and underweight babies. You don't want to keep him on it for long, it took 5 days and mine started gaining weight. Talk to your doc and see if that's an option.

if you're worried talk to your health visitor or doctor.
if your baby is underweight they can help you with diets to put weight on.
don't worry though as some people are skinny and this applies to babies too.
