It depends upon which sensor it is there are atl east 2 one in the radiator for the control of the fan and one for the actual temp gauge operation and in some cases there is another one for the engine management system to monitor temp as well for injection etc usually max of £20 though

how do you know its faulty,its best to have the car checked over buy a dealer if the sensor always reads lean,there may be a fuel or engine fault,all depends on useage if your driveing habits are short stops you are not getting the sensor hot enough to work properly,i work in a garage,and see this regurlarly.
