Where should we buy Rum from? Any car rental suggestions/experiences? (we've got 2 infants!)

We live in St James too, near Holetown and I agree, Drive-a-matic is very good.... be sure to book ahead tho and ask for car seats if you need them.
The Supercentre in Holetown is priced for you, the tourist, there is another one in Warrens - not far where I shop.
Also Jordan's in Speightstown is an experience not to be missed and the prices are lower.
Street venders are good too, for fruit and vegies.
Rum prices DO vary.
Do try a local run shop - great food and ambiance.
If you plan to do any duty free shopping - you will need to carry your exit paper with you, intinerary & passport.
Bring sunscreen, it is expensive here and you will need it.
Watch out for the Rum Punch, it carries a punch and creeps up on you.

Rum prices are pretty much controlled so buy it from anywhere

The best supermarket close by is called Supercentre.

The closest shopping areas are almost right next to each other - Sunset Crest and Holetown.

But Bridgetown is very close, about a ten minute bus ride, and buses will pass right in front of the hotel. The fare is $0.75 US per person.

The most reliable car hire is Drive-A-Matic.
