it could mea that you are "Crossing your fingers" your index and middle finger for "good luck" or also has anothermeaning in when you tell someone you will do something you cross your fingers behind your back (mostly young kids) and you have no intention of doing it.

it means you can cross your fingers at someone to give them good luck but you can say of course you can borrow it and put your fingers behind your back cross them and at the end that say "where is the dvd you said i cud borrow?" "i crossed my fingers"
