My favourite is Last Christmas by Wham because not only does it nail everything that needs to be said about Christmas, it also reminds me of a time when my father was coming home for Christmas after 3 months away and the excitement of seeing him again was building.

I love all the traditional Christmas Carols because they remind me of the true meaning of Christmas. My favourites are 'Oh, Holy Night' & 'Hark the Herold Angels Sing.' Not the usual version of 'Hark the Herold' but sung to the march from Handel's 'Judas Maccebeous.' The choir of St. Patrick's cathedral here in Dublin is the only choir I know who sing this version & it sends shivers down my spine every Christmas. On the other hand I find the Christmas songs (eg 'Jingle Bells,' 'Rudolf' etc.) tiresome especially when they are constant background 'muzac' in shopping centres, etc.

I totally agree with you about Wham Last Christmas. It makes me think of a time when I was in this really bad relationship and I knew I didn't love the person anymore because of the way I had been treated. I had briefly met my next partner (I live with him now) and I had all the feelings of the bad relationship coming to an end and also good feelings with the new man that I had a crush on. It was also the beginning of December when all this was happening so thats why I love that song so much!

Sixty or so years past when in my pram my family used to sing to me.They were loud and jolly. My sister used to sing jingle bells at the top of her voice.THe line about "over the fields we go laughing all the way" just about summed us up.She bounced the daylights out of that pram as she walked.
My father had a beautiful tenor voice he would belt out Once in Royal Davids City.We were so glad to get him back after the war.
Songs of childhood.!
Now i love the quieter Silent night ,Oh little town of bethlehem.
Slade are great louder than both my dad and sister

Well judging by my name, what do you think? SLADE every time of course! However Make A Daft Noise For Christmas by the Goodies is also a good one.

I like "Silent Night" as it reminds me of childhood, the Holy Family and the manger, the real reason for Christmas. And it reminds me of growing up singing that song in two languages, and at plays, on the radio, in church, many times throughout the holy season.

my favorite is Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. It makes me feel cozy. It gives me a different kind of happy feeling than all those upbeat christmas songs..

‘I believe in Father Christmas’ by Greg Lake is brilliant. The guitar at the start sends a shiver up my spine everytime I hear it. It doesn't remind me of anything in particular, just many , many Christmases when I was a kid.

O Holy Night, sung by Martina McBride. She has such an awesome voice and the song has such deep meanings. I could listen to it for hours!

Oh Holy Night sung by Andy Williams. It reminds me of cooking in our family kitchen when I was little.
