secrets are about the past, friendship is about the future. gaining a history and memories. skeletons create who we are. learning a new friends values and morals is more important than thier secrets. We all have secrets that have taught us lessons in life, when the time is right they are shared.

When I make a new friend, I study the person very carefully, starting from his dress, to the way he or she talks to figure out most of the background myself, and assess the person's temperament and charecteristic traits.
If I am sure that I can trust and the person can be a friend and also that he or she is sincere, and we could gel in some way, then I take it further and wait for them to make a positive move towards friendship,
I dont pry into personal problems or secrets cause the more u know the more you get involved unnessasarily.
Time and transaction are the best informants

When a friend is new you don't need to know everything upfront. You have plenty of time to build a relationship then as the friendship moves along the secrets will slowing start coming out. There has to be a level of trust.

I don't try to do anything. It is enough to be friends and if they want to tell me something great but I keep my personal life mine and would prefer that they do the same. Secretes are only that if they stay unspoken.

I'll wait til the right time comes that she/he can able to reveal her/his secrets to me.
it's better that way than to find out all his secrets. I maybe wrong if i will find them out myself.. besides, maybe she/he needs the perfect timing to tell those secrets to me.. I will trust him/her to do that..
If she/he can't tell me, I will respect her/his decisions and privacy..

Wait until they're ready and you have their trust. I believe you need to prove yourself first, same goes for giving out my secrets to them.

Depends on their personality. If they like to talk and are quite open then it's easy, but if they are reserved and a little rigid sometimes you have to pry and tinker around until you get what you need.
