That's a great question........ and you're absolutely right about no one caring if it is starving and struggling to survive
after its born...people have no right to invade a woman's privacy..those protesters make me sick...they have no idea why a woman is there and they don't need to be told a reason for her choice what if she's there because she was raped or because she's infected with an std?? the last thing that woman should have to deal with is a bunch of religious fanatics protesting abortion clinics....when does FREEDOM OF SPEECH become harassment?

well, some people feel it violates a religious law. (do not murder)
But for non-religious people like myself, it may be about responsibility. When a person has sex, they know that there is a possibility that they will get pregnant/get someone pregnant. they take on that responsibility when they go through with it. Women who get pregnant and then decide AFTER the fact that they are not ready to have child for whatever reasons and have an abortion (non medical), do not respect life, in my opinion. If they DID use birth control, and still got pregnant, then the responsibility is the same. If they cannot have a child in their life, and it's past the first month, then they should respect life by carrying the baby and then giving it up for adoption.
I don't think abortions should be illegal because there are times when a woman may need to have one for medical reasons. Also, if it is done within the first month, I don't consider that 'abortion' because it is not a fetus yet. I think morning after pills are a better solution, because if you had sex without protection you can take them as a precaution and you are only flushing out a few cells.
But you are so right about how there are so many children whose mother's cant afford to take proper care of them, along with abused and neglected children. It seems most of the people that are so against all abortions, have no place in their hearts for poor people. They elect politicians who give tax breaks to the rich, cut back on funding for programs that will help poorer families, and are perfectly happy to let these neglected children starve.

Heres the thing, and I don't think this is why most people care but it is why I care.
It takes two to make a baby and male and female. Once the sperm has passed into the female, pretty much all the power is passed along with it. If the male wants to have the baby or not have the baby he no longer has any say in the matter. He will have to pay for it though. Now why should women get all the choice? its only 1/2 their baby. A Pro life stance however illogical places the woman in a similar position as the man. If women are not responsible enough to use contraception they should be made the pay/suffer etc as a man is now.

Actually that all depends on what country you are in. In America there are very few starving children. Mother's with low income are provided plenty of food and medical care, and shelter by the government. There are also plenty of orphanages. I've never seen a homeless child in America, but am sure there are some.
Anyways, people are against abortion because it's used as a birth control !!!!! That's totally screwed up when it would have been easier and less ummm ....murderous if she would have used a condum.
I'm not against abortion in rape or if the mother will die if they baby is not aborted.

Religion is the root of most death in the world. How can people who mean so well end up killing so many? Because all religions are inherantly violent.
Religious people believe that they are responsible for the lives of others as well as their own. They want to make women into baby machines, without any free will. In a religious person's perfect world, women wouldn't have any choices when it comes to their bodies.
I believe that my girlfriend is more than a baby carrying machine. If we got pregnant, we certainly wouldn't have an abortion, but having the option is a right that should never be taken away. If you don't like abortions, don't have one. You could even put your money where your mouth is by giving money to adoption agencies, since many kids put up for adoption never do get adopted. Abortions should be SAFE, LEGAL, and FEW.

Some people feel like it should not be up to a regular person to choose whether another person should live or die; it should only be up to God. I think it should be a woman's choice to decide what she and her partner wants to do; I can understand making a mistake one time. I definetly don't agree with a women having multiple abortions because she and her partner are too lazy and irresponsible to use birth control. If at all possible I would want to see a child put up for adoption instead of aborted. But like I said people make mistakes and sometimes they don't have any other choice.

I believe that the majority of women having abortions do suffer a lot, physically and emotionally. The killing of the foetus is only incidental, not premeditated.
Every woman owns her body. Every woman has the right to decide what is best for her.
I am a man and also pro-abortion and a very proud Aussie.

The main reason is that it is the direct murder of an innocent human being, for those who believe that an embryo is, indeed, a living human being.
Other than that, it is because it is an issue everyone can latch to and weigh in on, and is using relentlessly used by politicians and religions, and so on.
Although I think there are a lot of people who do, indeed care about children after they are born, and work hard to provide for these babies. Granted, most of the loud-mouthed anti-abortion activists aren't the ones doing it, but the ones who are get big props for being consistent in their beliefs.

Interesting, you rail all over a woman who is concerned about the state of a possible animal hoarder (who, by the way, don't take care of their animals, they just have a lot of them), saying how dare she attack a woman caring for innocent animals, yet you condone killing innocent babies.
I must assume that you don't care if your mother would have aborted you ... .
I support abortion as a womans right, because in this country it is a matter of law, and I will defend the laws of my country, so long as they exist.
However, there is no getting around the fact that most pregnancies, if not aborted, will indeed produce a living, breathing human being, therefore it is a life.
I have had a difficult life, but I am glad that my mother chose not to have an abortion. She was a young single girl, lured and date-raped by a married man, yet she clung to the belief that all life is sacred, and had me despite others telling her not to. I hold her in great honor for this. (and no, she did not raise me)
