I'm bisexual. I have refused to date men, from time to time. It just depends on where the lady is at. And be a little less self-involved--it's not always about YOU. Or men, per se. But most often, it is.

Generally, for the same reasons why a heterosexual woman might not date men.

Otherwise ....

The bisexual woman may be wanting to only date women at that moment in time (having previously dated men, or will date men in the future). Bisexuals vary. Some will date a partner irrespective of their gender, and others may alternate between genders (i.e. a bisexual male dates a female, then a male, then a female).

Well, I am bi-sexual and I must say that I am attracted to very few people all together. I usually am attracted to guys but I have been attracted to girls. I have dated both sexes. Being bi is more confusing than being lesbian or gay in some ways. Like you may not know if you can be with a guy forever or a girl. Its rough. And not only that but sometimes bis go through phases where they want girls because they are "sick" of dating guys...It is strange I know. I know either way I go I have high standards....Sexuality is confusing. For example I am pregnant by a guy who had said he was gay his whole life. And I have a friend that is lesbian who has only been attracted to one guy and feels for him she can stop being with women because she loves him...It may be many things. So I would not take it to heart. SEXUALITY IS CONFUSING! Goodluck and I hope things work out!

There are bisexual men who have never dated or slept with women, never intend to, and never will. There are bisexual women who have never dated or slept with men, never intend to, and never will.

On the outside, they might look gay or lesbian, but bisexuality is not about who you sleep with- it's about who you desire. Actually, any sexuality is about the desire. If someone straight decided to swear off dating for a while (for whatever reason), you wouldn't suddenly say they were asexual, would you? Of course not- the desire is still there, just not being acted on.

I don't know why a bisexual woman would refuse to date men, but here are some possibilities:

1) She is not really bisexual, but using the label for some means, possibly to eradicate the stigma of being a lesbian, etc.

2) She isn't refusing to date men, but just hasn't met one yet who pushes her buttons.

3) She is more attracted to women than to men. Bisexuals aren't 50-50 split in attraction, you know. It can be 95% women and 5% attraction to men, but they are still bisexuals.

4) She's had some bad experiences with men or views them badly on a whole, so she's swearing off them for a while.

5) She's doing it as a political sort of statement about the patriarchy and surpassing the love of men, even as she acknolwedges her bisexuality and that she is not a lesbian.

6) I have no idea- just playing games?

Hope that helps!

well, I would be a bit confused by that myself.
If a lady is bi, then she's claiming to like both sexes. But maybe she's just dating only women for a certain period of time, maybe.
But if she never dates men, then she's probably really les. I don't know why she would lie about that though.

Maybe she just didn't want to date YOU. :)

I consider myself bisexual because I respond sexually to certain men. However that does not mean I want to date them and it especially doesn't mean I want to sleep with them. Been there, done that, and considering my lack of judgment with men, I'll stick to my g/f, thank you.

Notice I am not blaming men at all, I love men, I simply have horrible taste in men.

Huh? Are we talking big fat ugly hairy sweaty men? She may have STANDARDS - maybe she only likes a certain type of man and he hasn't asked her out yet.

Evidently this happens frequently to you. Don't underestimate yourself, not everyone can make a lesbian on the first try.
