How is this possible since Br2 is insoluble in CCl4(their forces of attraction are not compatible)?

Br2 is extremely soluble in CCl4 - much more soluble than in water.
Look up "partition".

Both are non polar so Br2 is very soluble in CCl4.

ccl4 is a polar protic solvent and these solvents can dissolve organic compounds
